CGHH was founded in 2008 by Jan and Phil Calvert after more than 20 years of part-time bookkeeping work. From the start, their goal has been to provide the best in accounting services and financial advice to clients in Oklahoma, Texas, and the surrounding states.
Jan began her bookkeeping work in the early 1980s, managing receivables for a small energy firm during the oil crunch. In an effort to help the company remain viable, she quickly expanded her duties, taking on all the accounting and shipping responsibilities (and even assembling band saw blades a few hours a week!)
In 1990, she want to work for the well-known Carmen Ministries, overseeing the accounting and donor databases during a period when the organization went from $7,000 a month in income to more than ten times that amount. After moving on in 1993, she worked part-time at a bank while doing freelance bookkeeping for various ministries and mission groups. Despite these responsibilities, she also managed to serve as a co-pastor to a new church in Texas with Phil.
Eventually, though, her bookkeeping work became so popular that the company had to be incorporated, and grew into the business that now stands as a leader in bookkeeping for ministries, nonprofits, and small to medium-sized businesses throughout the greater Midwest. Past and current clients have included Church of the Harvest, Heart of God Ministries, WebRevelation, Camps Quick Oil Change, Chris Lee Fine Homes, Gibbs Consulting, and more than a dozen others.
Today, CGHH provides affordable bookkeeping services to dozens of businesses in various industries. Because of our commitment to honesty and integrity – and our habit of treating clients like family – we have grown from a small, home-based company to a growing organization that serves startups, established businesses, and nonprofit clients throughout the region. We think it's an attention to detail, and a desire to go above and beyond our clients’ expectations, that sets us apart from our colleagues and competitors.
The CGHH brand, which includes the family names from all four grandparents of Jan and Phil, is a nod to the proud family legacies that both partners bring to the business... and a reminder that a reputation for excellence is something that's built over generations, not overnight.
